I’ve made some tweaks to the website for optimization and for personal preference.  The big change to the website comes iwth the renaming of “Comic” to “Converstations with James (Comic)” and the display changes to that category.  I’ve tweaked the display of “Converstations with James (Comic)” to be more like a traditional webcomic by only displaying 1 strip per page.  I will probably be adjusting this category further to have a unique skin more inline with traditional web comics.  I also changed the naming convention on my comic images to something more traditional.  This should only effect you if you are hot linking my comic on another website.

I’ve been having a lot of fun making the comic, and much to my amazement other people seem to be enjoying it too! Our traffic is steadily increasing, and I’ve found that we are getting hits from stumble and other social networking sites.  If I’m lucky this will become a steady flow of traffic.

I am not happy with the removal of my social links at the bottom of my posts by the single post modification caused, so I removed it.  I will probably be creating my own solution to this annoying problem at a later date.  For now it will display with 5 articles in the category. =(

I fixed the issue.  I should try to trouble shoot more before ranting about things not working the way I want. =P

Sorry that the site was down pretty much all day yesterday. Apparently my host was having some major DNS issues, and my server was effected pretty much all day.  Everything appears to be back in working order today.

Last night my good buddy Lucas Hutson did a poetry reading at  my favorite coffee shop Calypsos Coffee.  The reception was pretty good.  I attempted to record the event, but we had some technical difficulties. I did managed to get a recording using the onboard mic of my laptop, but the sound is really hollow.  I’m going to see if there is anything I do to make it sound a bit bettter, but it’s not looking like I can do a whole lot.

I also finally got my xbox 360 back from being repaired.  Everything appears to be working great.  I had some problems getting my Downloaded Content working properly, but after doing the DLC xfer on the xbox site it was smooth sailing.  I haven’t had much of a chance to play the xbox though.

I’ve totally be slacking as I am feeling a bit under the weather.  I should have some time this week to get those first few strips of that comic I promised online.  I also picked up Munchkin Quest.  It is such a blast to play I just might have to write a review for it.  I did take some photos of our second run through the random dungeon.  Tonight is the weekly Pathfinder Game I run, so any updates tonight are pretty much out of the question.  I’ve been considering doing what Shamus Young over at Twenty Sided does with his campaing.  After each game session, he writes up the adventure in story format for his site.  It’s an interesting way to look back and see the adventure unfold, and with a little luck it makes for an awesome story.  I haven’t decided if I believe myself to have enough creative writing abilitiy to pull that off yet.  We will just have to see how it all plays out. =)

I am pretty happy with the current template that I’ve setup for use on my site.  However, I’ve already had to create some CSS and php modifications to it.  I will probably continue to add features to this template that I want that are not natively supported.  If I decide that working with this template becomes more work than just creating a new one, it is likely that I will scrap this template and start over form scratch.

In other news, I started work on a web comic.  I have no idea if I will update it with regularity, but so far the first few strips have been a blast to make.  I will be setting up an area of my site sometime this week to house the first few strips.
